Coffee....mmmmmm coffee. Every morning I enjoy my cup of coffee and
every morning it provides a much needed moment or two of relaxation during the hectic course if the day. Honestly, is there anything better than those few moments when you can wrap your hands around a piping hot mug of coffee, it's comforting aroma wafting into your nose, and waking uo your senses. Those first sips are strong and bitter, and the world just seems to come alive doesn't it? Now I wouldn't say I'm addicted or anything...but I sure do enjoy my cup each morning....sometimes so much I go back for a second!
Last week I was introduced to Starbucks newest reserve blend, and I can definitely see becoming addicted to it! The Galapagos San Cristobal blend is a perfect mix of herbs, spice, chocolate. It is strong and rich, perfect to open your eyes for a big day at the office, or to gently bring you out of you weekend lull to prepare for a day of shopping, or cheering on your friends, or kids at soccer.
Why is this coffee so much better than others? Well I think several factors contribute. The land where the beans are grown are chock full of nutrients from the volcano in close proximity, and of course there is the air that infiltrates the land from Antarctica, creating a chilly environment. These elements make for incredibly flavorful beans, but beans that are limited in quantity. Luckily, Starbucks is bringing those beans to you.
Unfortunately, since the quantities are scarce of this particular bean, the blend is limited at Starbucks as well. This means that they will be only able to carry Galapagos San Cristobal for a short time. My advice? This stuff is delicious- check it out!!

Pretty pretty pictures!
Coffee is my mainstay. I have enjoyed so many blends and beans for years. Often I have thought, this is a truly great coffee and a lot of them have been great coffees.
The Galapagos San Cristobal has set itself apart from all other beans. This is a truly exquisite taste. The flavors are intensely complex. Each flavor is distinct and remains with each of the others. The added dimension is that the taste of the coffee lingers long after the cup is empty.
Galapagos San Cristobal, without question, deserves the key to the city.
Suggestions,please, for a rival?
Thanks for the post A. I'd be interested in hearing about a rival as well- name your favorite coffees!
I will admit that I am addicted to coffee, and do not function (well) without my morning Starbucks. Right now I have the 'for Farmers by Farmers' beans at home and I love the beans. This blend sounds delicious too, I will try to check it out!
