15th Annual Nantucket Wine Festival (May 18-22, 2011)

It is wine time around these parts yesterday!  After alerting you yesterday to a fun upcoming event held at Morton's Back Bay, it seemed only fitting to dedicate some time today to alerting you all to the 15th Annual Nantucket Wine Festival.  Nantucket, though I don't have the opportunity to get out there often enough, is by far one of my favorite features of Massachusetts.  This tiny island encompasses all of the beauty and charm of the state, all while maintaining its historic significance.  They also have some pretty incredible food.

The Wine Festival might be THE event to attend on the island.  Close to two hundred vineyards are represented, from all over the country, and each offering samples of their fantastic varietals.  Of course, it wouldn't be the Nantucket Wine Festival without some of their amazing food represented- the Grand Tasting events alone offer amazing tastes from the fantastic chefs of Nantucket.  Additionally, for each of the days there are receptions, lunches, dinners, and symposiums many catered by some of the best restaurants on the island.

Tickets are now available for all events, with a Grand Cru Package encompassing all of the "must see" events.  While the prices range for these events, I have been alerted that even just attending a Grand Tasting is well worth it.  On that note- Ill also put in my plug for any meal hosted by Company of the Cauldron-just my two cents.

Full details, pricing, and event options are available at http://www.nantucketwinefestival.com/

The festival runs from May 18-22 on the gorgeous island of Nantucket.

Well, after our conversation the other day and reading your blog entry, I think we HAVE to go! Perhaps we should start a Nantucket Wine Festival Fund to pay for our little adventure (loose change jars, anyone??). Fiona, this event was MADE for you and me. <3
