If you follow me on Twitter, or in real life (weird I know), then you may be aware that I've had a pretty severe cold for the last week plus. The most upsetting part of this illness was that it rendered me somewhat ineffectual at an event Monday evening that I had been looking forward to for months. Monday, March 28th was the date of the Spoonful of Ginger benefit, proceeds to help in the research of Diabetes in Asian Americans.
I was able to stop briefly and capture some images of the gorgeous event, held in the new wing at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Chefs from all over the city had set up tables of freshly prepared foods, all which looked amazing, but my dull taste buds told me that to sample would be a waste of a plate on me.
The event was gorgeous however, and well attended. Approximately 450 guests attended, and $350,000 were raised to support such an incredible cause.
As a final note, the Asian American Diabetes Initiative is currently selling T-shirts for $25 a piece, proceeds to be donated to the Japan relief effort. Please contact the AADI at 617-732-2606 for more information.
